Main Architectural Features!

For my group, we didn't get the chance to make our gingerbread cathedral so i am going to talk about all of the features of the cathedral:
- Pointed Arches
- Rose Windows
- Flying Buttresses
- Gargoyles
- Tympanum

Pointed Arches- The Pointed Arch is considered one of the defining characteristics of medieval churches constructed in the Gothic Style, similar arches were used in Middle Eastern architecture hundreds of years before they employed in Western Europe. Pointed Arches were used to direct weight onto load-bearing columns at a sharp angle, Thus allowing for much taller vaulted ceilings.

Rose Windows- A large circular window, usually glazed with stained glass, having stone tracery radiating from the center, often with intricate petal-like patterns.

Flying Buttresses- An arched masonry support serving to bear thrust, as from a roof or vault, away from a main structure to an outer pier or buttress.

Stained Glass Windows- In architecture, a gargoyle is a carved stone grotesque, usually made of granite, with a spout designed to convey water from a roof and away from the side of a building thereby preventing rainwater from running down masonry walls and eroding the mortar between.

Tympanum- an architectural element located within the arch or pediment

Now, I didn't know what most of these words meant to be honest so I did look them up in the Urban Dictionary so all of this credit goes to that but yess I just basically explained what they are aha, the definition of them! :3 hope that was good enough

Gingerbread Gothic Cathedral! Sara, Brooke & Kendra

For a new project, we are in Groups of 2 and 3 or sometimes more, but for my group I am with Brooke Brizard, and Kendra Paul!
What we have decided to do for our Cathedral is we are going to use Gingerbread to make it because we all want to eat it after! aha :) but we are going to make ours pretty basic actually, We went online yesterday and found a couple of good ideas for our Gingerbread Cathedral
Here they are:

The third one does look a little more complicated than the others but these are basically what we had in mind for out Cathedral, All of us girls were pretty worried about getting it to actually look nice and stay up and were also more concerned about decorating it afterwards but that has all been figured out! We should start working on it sometime this week or by Monday hopefully, We will make sure to post our results as we are making it :)
Thank you :D

PrintScreen Project!

For my print screening project I have decided to do do something a little more different and detailed then I did last year,
This was my project from last year:
That is what I had chosen to do because for the summer I was planning on going to a concert over the summer by that band, the name of the band that had written that song is Black Veil Brides!
This Is Them, the lead singer is my favorite! <3
That is my favorite song which is why I made the T-Shirt with the name of the song on it :)
I had ended up going to the concert and the lead singer Andy Biersack did end up seeing my shirt which was awesome :) he didnt say anything bout it but it was still an honor to have him see it. ANYWAYS before I ramble on,.
This is the T-Shirt I choose to make this year:
It is a lot more detailed and stuff this year, I loved creating the vision of New York City and how it would look through the eye of an Artistic Eye :D I thought that that was really cool and is shows how passionate I am on getting every possible detail right when it comes to making something of my choice! and I think that I will be able to do this :) I hope I will be able to succeed at making this. I don't wanna ruin a picture that I spent almost 4 hours making at home straight to go to waste! so lets hope good things come out of this and see what happens! Wish me luck! :)
Comment what you think of my idea  thanks guys! :D
